The Van Dyck Presents Legendary Jazz-Fusion Guitarist Frank Gambale
On Friday, September 13, the Van Dyck will present Grammy winning guitar virtuoso, FRANK GAMBALE for two shows at 7 and 9pm. Tickets will be $30 and available at the club and online at https://www.vandycklounge.com/lounge-events/
On this tour, FRANK GAMBALE will be joined by the powerful jazz, fusion and funk drummer, DENNIS CHAMBERS (Santana, John McLaughlin, Mike Sterns, John Scofield, George Duke, Niacin, Parliament Funkadelic, Brecker Brothers, Victor Wooten), as well by the bassist Mike Pope (Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Chuck Loeb, Mike Stern, Joe Locke, Bill Bruford, David Sanborn, Manhattan Transfer) and keyboardist Sean Wayland (Chad Wackerman, Virgil Donati, Adam Rogers, Wayne Krantz, David Binney).
Gambale exploded on the L.A. scene in the early ‘80s. His meteoric rise to fame is a testament to his passion-powered playing – a style Rolling Stone magazine called “ferocious!" Australia born and California based Frank Gambale is an inspired songwriter with more than 250 songs published on 20+ albums. His music touches on many styles from rock, funk and jazz to R&B and some Latin and Brazilian influences. As a legendary guitarist, Gambale is an undisputed genius who originated the "sweep picking" technique (a new way to play the instrument) and elevated it to a precise art form now standard in the guitar lexicon. Jazz, rock, metal and progressive artists alike are united in their awe of Frank as both an amazing technician and an unsurpassed musician.
